Our Story
Since 2010, Stone Deaf has been part of a creative movement, crafting bold and original gear that spans Overdrive, Fuzz, Distortion, and Modulation pedals—alongside some unconventional ventures into guitar amplification.
Driven by a need to innovate, we’ve even dabbled in digitally controlled valve amplifiers—an ambitious experiment that may have landed a little early for the market, but one that pushed our understanding of what’s possible when analog meets digital.
At the core of what we do is a commitment to quality, originality, and a customer experience that feels personal, no matter where you are in the world. We’re not flawless, but we care deeply about getting things right and leaving you feeling heard, valued, and inspired.
Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age was our very first customer, followed closely by visionary illustrators McBess and Daren Newman—artists whose creative energy helped shape our visual identity and product direction from the beginning.
Stone Deaf was born in Oldham, Greater Manchester—a post-industrial town once at the heart of the global cotton industry. It’s a place that teaches you resilience and keeps you grounded, no matter how far your ideas reach.
Greater Manchester has been the birthplace of musical legends: The Smiths, Oasis, Joy Division, The Stone Roses, New Order, The Buzzcocks, The Fall, The Charlatans, Take That, Blossoms, The 1975, The Chemical Brothers, Doves, Billy Duffy, The Bee Gees, Aitch, and many more.
Their sound—and the culture surrounding it—continues to inspire everything we do. With our gear, we hope to contribute to the next generation of musicians shaping the future of music, wherever you are.
